In
Memory of Mary Smith Malloy
Boardmember and friend
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.
Mary Smith Molloy of Dedham
and Pocasset, sadly passed away
December 12, 2006. Mary was an
Eire Society Board of Director
and sister to Barbara Fitzgerald

Áine
Greaney, Irish Author presentation: "Before
the Tiger" February 2006
The Eire Society of Boston was proud to present Eire Society member and esteemed
author Áine Greaney. Áine moved to the U.S. in the 1980s, along
with 30,000 fellow Irish prior to the "Celtic Tiger" financial boom
in Ireland in the 1990s. In June 2003, her novel The Big House (a bestseller
in Galway) was launched in Ireland and was launched in the U.S. in 2004. Her
recent work In This Country is her latest work and features several
of her short essays. On February the 2nd, Aine, an award-winning author, speaks
and reads from her work about the 1980s immigration wave to America, the Ireland
she left behind and the new Ireland she now visits. See
the press release in the Boston Irish Reporter!
