Kyle Darcy Event at Boston Harbor Hotel

March 13, 2011
The Eire Society presented Belfast author, Kyle Darcy, who signed copies and spoke about his gripping new novel, Under Current Conditions. Kyle's book is a suspenseful psychological thriller which takes place locally and includes some actual events from the news that people will be familiar with. The book was available for pick up the book ahead of time (available at Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble, independent booksellers, and Darcy's website) so that attendees could participate in the discussion. The book was also available for purchase and signing at the event. There were light refreshments (hors d'oeuvres, sweets, coffee and tea) and a cash bar.
This is nothing short of a GREAT READ. Darcy grabs your attention and doesn't let it go until you have turned the last page. The plot includes FBI stings, murder and kidnapping, but these elements play a supporting role to the main theme of the story, which is conveyed in an engaging and entertaining style. Under Current Conditions is a Master Class in Life's Lessons.New Officers Elected for 2008-2009

Both gentlemen were previous members in good-standing of the general board and have held strong commitments to the Eire Society's goals and objectives.

The Eire Society of Boston Joins
in the May 2008 Walk for Hunger
May 4, 2008
The Eire Society of Boston was proud to partake in Boston's 2008 Walk for Hunger hosted by Project Bread. The walk, according to Dave O'Reilly, Eire Society Walk Organizer, is part of a Boston Irish hunger initiative that commemorates the strength of those Irish who survived and successfully made it to Boston just over 160 years ago during Ireland's Great Hunger. Thanks to Dave O'Reilly, Lauren and Pete Estes and Alriona Costigan for braving the bad weather to walk for a good cause.
